Spoken robustly by one of the girls during a family vacation-planning discussion at lunchtime today:

"I'd rather go camping than to the beach!"

Huh?! Anyone that knows me well can appreciate the humor of this situation. I think I have my very good friend Susan and her husband "Eagle Scout Jim" to thank for this.

Guess I'd better go dig out my sleeping bag and bug repellant. ;-)

This is Bray...or rather...Prince Bray. And, his hair is REALLY fun to play with, and...if you look at the top of his head, you will see that something's wrong with his hair. Yeah...we kinda gave him a mohawk. (Having a baby brother is SO fun!) Here are some more pictures.

Today marks the beginning of the 40 day period of Lent leading up to Easter. It's a solemn yet rich and beautiful time of focusing on fasting, giving, and praying with the ultimate goal of going deeper in relationship with God and preparing our hearts to more fully experience the celebration of Easter. In our family, Lent has come to be so much more about what we're gaining than what we've given up. The sorrow of Good Friday and the joy of Easter reach new magnitudes for us after journeying through these 40 days.

A blessed Lent to all.
